Changes to Council Tax support

The way we work out your council tax support changed on 1 April 2022. 

What has changed

We have moved to what is called an income band scheme. This means we will look at your weekly household income and use it to determine the percentage of Council Tax support we provide.

Who this applies to

The new scheme applies to everyone of working age. You will continue to receive full support if you are:

• a pensioner
• claiming disability benefit where neither you or your partner are working

What you need to do

You do not need to do anything if your circumstances have not changed, we will use your current information to work out your support amount.
